11/27/2023 0 Comments Ai to affinity designer![]() I’m also somewhat concerned about losing Acrobat, as I occasionally have to use it to put together a PDF. ![]() At the same time, I’ve heard that they’re not too different and the skills are very transferable. I know that Adobe is used a lot in industry, and moving to Affinity could potentially cost me the ability to be able to mention that I’m skilled using it. They’re no help when it comes towards getting an Adobe CC subscription too. I know that they will let us use whatever we want, as long as it gets the job done, but they also mention some software that they prefer people to use, such as SolidWorks, InDesign, KeyShot and so on. My uni is brilliant, but can be quite frustrating when it comes to software. I’m in no doubt that I want to buy into the Affinity Suite, and know that by the end of my course it will be cheaper for me, but am unsure of what I may lose if I do. I also intend to use Publisher when they release it on the iPad. Their iPad apps look brilliant, I was tempted to buy Designer and Photo when they were on sale, and regret not doing it now. I use my M1 iPad Pro and HP Envy 14 mainly, using my own subscription, and can use uni computers with a (what I’m guessing is) a site license, as I can’t use my uni email to access anything on my own devices, but can on theirs. I have also used Acrobat a lot, but I’m unsure of what alternatives are best. I may also need to use Illustrator in the future. I’ll try to keep this short, but I’ve been at uni since last September and have been paying for a discounted CC subscription since around then at £16 per month, using mainly InDesign, Fresco, and Photoshop, and having had to use Premiere once. There's also the nice added bonus that I'm supporting a local business, as I have just found out that Affinity is based where I am from! Plus, if I ever do decide that I don't want to keep paying for CC, I've got the option of just using Affinity instead. I'll be using both Adobe and Affinity, with the aim of improving my skills with both suites. My plan is to keep my CC subscription running, as with the student discount it isn't too bad (as long as I only look at the cost each month, and not over my 4 years at uni.), plus I will be needing Illustrator for some manufacturing work. ![]() Vimeo Affinity Vimeo Affinity Photo Vimeo Channel Affinity Designer Vimeo ChannelĮdit - Since everything has gone on 50% sale, I've decided to buy into the Affinity Suite, with all 3 apps on Windows, and the 2 currently released apps for the iPad Pro (with some money set aside for when Publisher releases).
